We take a slightly different approach at Dining Out with Rob Balon.com. We prefer to spend our energies, for the most part, telling you where to go as opposed to where not to go. We also tend to be a bit more supportive of owner-operated restaurants than some. Our vision of Armageddon is to drive down any major road in town and see nothing but chain restaurants.

Like all other print and broadcast media in Austin, we accept advertising from restaurants on our website. But our readers should know this: we don't accept ads from restaurants that Rob cannot personally recommend. Plain and simple. To our knowledge, we are the only advertising vehicle with those kinds of constraints.
