Creek Road Cafe in in Dripping Springs Closes

For quite some time, we enjoyed a number of memorable meals at Creek Road Cafe in Dripping. It featured high-end cuisine in a relatively casual setting.

Chef Chae, who had overcome a lung transplant to work his magic in the kitchen, produced some of the best soups we’d found anywhere in Austin.  Additionally he worked wonders with shellfish and had the most incredible  carrot cake. I could go on.

Creek Road Cafe was the first restaurant south of Oak Hill to make our Top 25 list. But after inexplicably drifting into a period of decline followed by the reality check of COVID-19, they were recently forced to close.

They’ll be missed by my wife and I and members of our Gonzo Gourmet Club. Au Revoir!
