Ilsa’s in Spicewood Closes

The answer to where’s a good German joint in the Hill Country was: Ilsa’s on Highway 71 in Spicewood. Alas, that is no more. Ilsa’s has closed its doors and that’s unfortunate. I liked the place a lot. It was never anything than what it purported to be: simple, basic and tasty German chow. The fact that the owners were Hispanic only made it more appealing. I always enjoyed my meals there and I wish Joel and his family the best.
