Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Gorge on Goucho Grub at Austin Wedding
I had no idea former Dazed and Confused star and current headliner of Magic Mike Matthew McConaughey was a fan of South Ameriacn style meat on the skewer. But he likes it to the extent that he and South American wife Camila Alves had the folks from Austin’s Estancia Churrascaria hand-build a fire pit on McConaughey’s property where they roasted six different meats to serve at the star’s wedding. The guests sampled Pichana, Filet Mignon, Bottom Sirloin, Lamb Chops, Chicken Breasts Wrapped in Bacon and Sauage. I would concur with the choices!
McConaughey and his new bride have dined at Estancia (at the Arboretum) before and worked out a catering deal with owner Ironi Darosa for the wedding. the meats (churasco) were cooked in the pit and delivered to guests by waiters dressed in bombachas, boots, and scarfs (traditional server attire at Estancia).
Guests included Reese Witherspoon, Woody Harrelson, Kenney Chesney and John Mellencamp, just to name a few. Rumor has it that spiky-haired chef Guy Fieri was also in attendance.
