A Third Bachelor Stint for Brad?
Now that Austinite and bar owner Brad Womack has wrapped up a second turn as “The Bachelor” (he actually kind of sorta picked somebody this time), it occurred to me that there’s no real reason why ABC shouldn’t make him the permanent Bachelor for the foreseeable future of the show.
British bookmakers are betting that Brad and Emily, the single mom to whom Brad finally gave the rose, won’t even make it through SXSW. And given Brad’s alleged and apparently ongoing infatuation with Laurel Kagay, his former girlfriend and owner of Peach Salon in Westlake, it’s hard to argue with the odds makers.
Like Hamlet, Brad has indeed become the quintessential tragic character that women find irresistible. So why not just appoint Brad at the permanent Bachelor? He can disappoint an entirely new cast of 30 women each year to the delight of millions of ladies out there who actually watch these shows and vicariously share those intimate yet seemingly pointless moments with Austin’s own reluctant prince.
