Austin Restaurants: Watch Out for ROMEO!!!

I recently had lunch at Freda’s Seafood grill on Pecan Park off 620. As I enjoyed the accent of New Orleans that Freda presents, I couldn’t help but overhear the lively conversation from a group of white-haired men behind me.They laughed frequently and appeared to be having a great time.

My curiosity got the best of me and I turned and asked if their lunch was a regular occurrence, “Yes,” replied the man directly behind me. “Our group is called ROMEO!”

He caught the puzzled look on my face. “Oh not that,” he said. ROMEO stands for Retired Old Men Eating Out.”
