Bellagio to Segue into “myplace” in September

It’s rare that a Top 20 restaurant with the quality of Bellagio would be forced by the local economy to restructure the concept of the restaurant but that’s exactly what Linda Bernardone is about to do with the lovely Bellagio at Jester Estates and 2222.

Beginning in September, Bellagio will become “My Place,” a more casual themed restaurant which will retain many favorite Bellagio items and add some newer more casual fare like New England style fish and chips and great burgers. Overall, the restaurant will take on a more accessible feel with several more flat screen TVs and introducing beers on tap. Also they will continue to make their own pasta.

The core staff, including Chef Ryan, are all staying. It’ll be business as usual until August 15th and then Bellagio will reopen on September 1 as “myplace.” With the new menu intact.

Restaurateurs are being forced to make some tough decisions in this weak market we’ve had. And I’m sure this was a tough one for Linda. But I think this will work because at whatever price point, quality is still quality. We’ll keep your posted.
