Blackbird and Henry Opens at 3016 Guadalupe
For one brief shining moment, or so it seemed, Marble Falls had two amazing restaurants literally across the street from each other. The first was Patton’s on Main, helmed by Patton Robertson who had opened Spago in Las Vegas for Wolfgang Puck. Alas, the restaurant did not make it. The second, which also closed was Mark Schmidt’s Cafe 909. I greatly admired Schmidt’s work, and that’s why I’m delighted he’s resurfaced in Austin.
The new restaurant is called Blackbird and Henry and will recreate Schmidt’s favorite dishes from 909, as well as his other British and Continental influences. The new store replaces the dreadful Another Broken Egg (which died a merciful death) and will be a boon for area foodies. Check blackbirdandhenry.com. Really looking forward to this.
