Brazilian Steakhouse Espetos Opens In Lakeway
First there was Fogo de Chao, the original Brazilian steakhouse. The late President Bush had discovered the place on a visit to Rio and encouraged the owners to open in Dallas. Eight restaurants later Fogo finally opened in downtown Austin.
Then, a long term manager from Fogo opened Estancia Churrascaria in Sunset Valley. He replicated the Fogo menu along with the famous salad bar and lowered the prices. It was a big hit, so much so that he was encouraged to open another location in the Arboretum. And they are still doing well.
And now another Churrascaria has opened in Lakeway. It’s called Espetos after the famous Brazilian concept of continuous dining. They serve the grilled meats on skewers (like the prime Picana) and they do the similar sides and the salad bar.
I haven’t tried it yet but we’re headed out that way and I’ll file a report soon. Stay tuned!
