Brothers and Sisters Dish at Hao Hao and Hao-Q
One of the more interesting and intriguing familial pairings of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine can be found at Hao Hao on William Cannon and at Hao-Q on Far West. Even more interesting is that brothers Kevin and Young Quach are partners in the restaurants, Hao Hao and Hao-Q respectively, with their wives Lyn and Hong, who are also sisters! You gotta admit: that’s pretty cool.Hong is Lyn’s younger sister (although you could fool me) And Young is Kevin’s younger brother. Both worked their way up the ladder with start-at-the-bottom jobs in the restaurant biz. And today, they preside over two flourishing restaurants that feature a compelling array of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. I particularly like the soups at both restaurants, and the genial personalities of the brothers and the sisters. You won’t find nicer people. That being said, their kids are pretty nice too, with Char, Hong and Young’s daughter, working at Hao-Q.
Believe it or not, there are more family members involved in Asian dynasty but we’ll get to them on the next pass. For now, enjoy these two neat restaurants and the people who run them.
