Bryce Gilmore Snags Huge Award

First let me state that I couldn’t be more proud of Bryce Gilmore, owner of Barley Swine at 2024 South Lamar. He has just been voted one of the top ten chefs under 30 in the US by Food and Wine Magazine.

If you’ve been to either his Odd Duck trailer or the new brick and mortar restaurant, it’s easy to see why. Gilmore, son of Jack Allen’s Kitchen owner Jack Gilmore, is extremely talented. He has a deft touch in the kitchen and totally gets upscale comfort food. He moves from Pork Bellies to Pig’s Feet to Foie Gras and Brussels Sprouts with equal dexterity. And it’s all delicious.

Gilmore stands in good company with other previous Austin winners, among them David Bull (The Driskill Grill, Congress) and Will Packwood (Emilia’s, 7, Cibo). I see nothing but a huge upside for this talented Austinite.
