Carmela’s Keeps the Pasta Coming in the Hill Country near Dripping Springs
I tend to patronize family owned and operated restaurants because they usually place a premium on customer care and satisfaction. Carmela’s Pizzeria Café & Deli on Route 12 at Hamilton Pool Road near Dripping Springs is one such spot.
They make authentic Italian dishes and always leave me satisfied. They’re not going to be on any Top 10 list because their food is not particularly spectacular, but it is consistently good and reliable … and more than worth a visit.
There are many dishes we like, particularly the Penne Pasta with Vodka sauce (as pictured above), the Veal Parmesan, and the Cheese Ravioli with marinara sauce. They can also crank out a pretty damned good pizza. Love their Fettuccine Alfredo as well and their tasty antipasto.
The ambience is simple and pleasant, and the service is efficient and welcoming. They bring a touch of class to an area that, food-wise, has been a bit arid. It’s always enjoyable to dine there and I hope you choose to do just that soon!
