Our Favorite Food Pics
Aside from enjoying many, many restaurant meals in the River City, I’ve also had the opportunity to take a bunch of pictures, many of which serve to bring us fond memories of those evenings. So I thought I’d do a bit of curating this Fall and found some enjoyable photos to share with our readers. […]

Hoover Alexander, Austin’s master of Southern-style cuisine and founder of the inestimable bistro Hoover’s Cooking on Manor Road has won yet another award. Staten Island Bar and Restaurant Closure Sparks Giant Protest
A restaurant and bar called Mac’s Public House in Staten Island was recently closed because the owner openly defied coronavirus restrictions imposed by New York governor Andrew Cuomo. The general manager was taken away in handcuffs Tuesday night. The establishment is located in one of New York’s so-called orange zones where COVID-19 cases have spiked. The […]
III Forks to Reopen May 1st Under Latest Abbott Ruling

Wild Kitchen and Bar Opens off Highway 71
The ambiance at Wild Kitchen + Bar is very pleasant and the service was excellent. The old mini golf course from the former restaurant is still outside and kids will love it, but the food here will send mom and dad into spasms of culinary rhapsody. The Fried Duck Leg Confit falls off the bone […]
Jayson Munguia Takes the Reins at Juliet Italian Kitchen
Stellar dishes like the Chicken Saltimbocca (pictured above) and the Salmon Crudo are very important to Juliet Italian Kitchen regulars. The challenge to new exec Jayson Munguia will be to maintain the consistency that departing head chef Jacob Weaver initiated. Should be an interesting next month at the Barton Springs eatery!
