Craig Gatewood Back in the Saddle with Peso and Bucks on Barton Springs

One of Austin’s long-term restaurant owners, Craig Gatewood, is ready to launch a new concept called Peso and Bucks on Barton Springs at the former site of Vinny’s Italian Café.

As you might imagine from the name, the emphasis will be on comfort food at affordable prices. Gatewood is a savvy operator who has great success with the Lodge at Lakeview, and less so with ventures like the Dam View and El Dorado. The opening is virtually a few days away, and we’ll keep you posted. I’ve always liked Craig, and he knows his way around a good happy hour spot with commensurate food. This place is in his wheel house. We look forward to the opening.
