Downtown Capital Grille to Open in Late April

Darden’s Capital Grille, one of the restaurant behemoth’s (Olive Garden, Red Lobster) newer more upscale concepts is set to open in late April on West 4th at the former site of the Spaghetti Warehouse. Prime steaks will be another a featured aspect of the menu, along with Kona Burgers and Lobster Mac and Cheese.

Darden has been toying with more upscale concepts (they purchased the Eddie V’s chain several years ago), and Capital Grille is another example of this move to higher ground. My only concern, as it was with Eddie V’s, is that a company that has made it’s billions off chains like the Olive Garden and Red Lobster may find it a bit more difficult to tackle high-end dining. Well, we shall see. I wish them luck.
