Due Fornii Opens at 106 East 6th
Hoping to duplicate their success in Las Vegas, chef Carlos Buscaglia and UT alum Alex Taylor have opened Due Forni on East 6th at the former site of Louie’s 106.
Due Forni literally means two ovens in Italian: one oven for the Neapolitan style pizza and the other for the Roman style both of which yield entirely different takes on Italian pizza.
Taylor has an extensive experience in the hospitality business in Las Vegas having worked as Food and Beverage Director for Wynn Resorts Encore and Mandalay Bay. Buscaglia had worked his way up the food ladder in Las Vegas at Fiamma at the MGM Gran before partnering with Taylor.
The restaurant, as seems to be the trend here with pizza places, will be about far more than pizza. Scallops, duck, lamb and other intriguing dishes will grace the menu.
