EurAsia Sushi Bar & Seafood’s Great Fish Dishes
My admiration for EurAsia Sushi Bar & Seafood continues too grow. This neat new restaurant in Oak Hill at the Y blends Indonesian cuisine along with seafood dishes and Japanese sushi and sashimi. So far I’ve been focusing on the Indonesian part of the menu with delicious results. But the fish dishes deserved their turn as well. So last week we tried fish. Did we try fish!
We started with the Spicy Creole Grouper. My friend Chikage Windler of KEYE TV loves this dish and so did I. The Grouper is pan seared with spicy spinach and it just exudes wonderful flavors.
Then we tasted the Halibut Anikara. Wow! The construction of this dish is a beautiful thing. The halibut is roasted and topped with lump crabmeat, Camembert cheese, and is finished with an artichoke cream sauce. This dish quite simply compels!
Another treat was the Hamachi Kama. This begins with a yellowtail collar grilled with sea salt and served over white rice with ponzu sauce. I usually have my hamachi as sashimi so this was a real treat to see what grilling could impart to the flavor. My curiosity was rewarded with a tender and savory array of fish.
Finally we ended with a marvelous sashimi platter that was exquisite. Start with the classic maguro (bottom left) and work your way counter clockwise around the picture. The Salmon, the Escolar, it was fresh and irresistible.
There are many components to the Eurasia menu and this is one delicious slice. More to come!
