Fareground Food Hall to Open in mid January
Well this is interesting. What do you get when you take the essentials of a good food trailer park and then ramp it up to a brick and mortar edifice? The answer is Fareground Food Hall which will house some familiar restaurant names with engaging concepts.
It’ll be located on Congress between Caesar Chavez and 2nd. The idea of a number of players sharing the space makes sense, because downtown commercial rental space has been skyrocketing lately.
So who do we have? The list is impressive. Easy Tiger, Dai Due (doing a taqueria), Emmer and Rye, Contigo, Antonelli’s Cheese Shop, and Kome (doing a Sushi/Ramen concept called Ni-Kome).
I was just bitching on our Dining Out Austin podcast that we needed more originality on the Austin food scene. Well here you go! This should be fun but I am a bit concerned about parking for those who don’t live downtown.
