Finally, Fore Gears Up for October 26th opening in Lakeway

There has been a lot of expectation about Fore in Lakeway (at the site of the former Mulligan’s on RR 620) since I first announced on KVUE and 590 KLBJ-AM that they would open in August. Well, that’s the restaurant world for you. A delayed permit here, an inspection snag there and suddenly your anticipated date is unachievable. But finally, the actual opening date is closing in and it’s October 26th.

The owners have acquired the services of talented chef James Ramsey, late of Silver and Stone in Georgetown. He’s developed a very approachable menu of American classic cuisine from Reubens and Monte Cristos to seafood, steaks, and burgers. The starters look intriguing as well: from James special corn dog to grilled lamb brochettes and truffled mac and cheese There will be happy hours from a full bar and live music as well. And the restaurant will accommodate private parties and events as well.

This restaurant will be a good fit for the Lakeway area. This will be a place where all will be welcome: golfers after finishing a round, business office gatherings, couples friends and families. I’ve tasted several of Chef Ramsey’s new offerings and they are quite tasty.
