Fine Dining and Comedy: New Twist on Valentine’s Evening

Posted by on Feb 18, 2015 in Openings

We went to a friend’s house off Far West Saturday night instead of doing the usual Valentine’s Evening dining orgy at one of 900 hundred competing restaurants. About 8 couples met to enjoy the wares of Johnny Tibbs, a man of many trades including insurance broker and consultant, not to mention chef and stand up comic.

The idea was Johnny would prepare different courses including some killer pizzas and salads (he’s got far more to choose from), and during lulls in the service he would come out and entertain us with his own New Orleans style of comedy. The comedy act needs a little bit of fine tuning, but the guy is genuinely funny, and he’s a hell of a cook. This could be a fun way to throw a dinner party with a new twist.

I’ll keep you posted as this idea evolves. Drop me a line if you feel this might be something you’d like more into on. rbbalon1@gmail.com.
