Heard on the Street: Mizu Makes Exec Chef and Management Change

Mizu, the snazzy new steak and sushi emporium on Highway 620 in Lakeway has severed ties with Exec Chef Chris Bauer along with the general manager. A new exec chef, Steven Bonnin with ties to Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago is scheduled to arrive on Monday.

This one’s a shocker: Bauer is a highly respected chef and in my opinion was doing a good job as the multi-million dollar restaurant ramped up. The reasons for his departure do not yet seem clear. But we’ll keep you posted on diningoutwithrobbalon.com.
