Jim McNeil Returns to Main Street Grill
A name that is well known to foodies not just in Round Rock but across Austin is chef Jim McNeil, the original founder of Main Street Grill and later Monica’s 701 in Georgetown. After losing touch with Jim for the last few years, we were surprised and delighted to see him back in the kitchen at Main Street Grill in Round Rock. The first dish that came out of his kitchen, the Spinach and Brie Dip was a vast improvement over the previous time we’d tried this at MSG. The Duck Spring Rolls were equally tasty along with an amazing Lamb Loin and a Pork Tenderloin. Jim’s Breading Pudding, complete with an assist from Round Rock Donuts, was over the top tasty.
I don’t know if this is a permanent arrangement or not, so all the more reason to get out to Main Street Grill and try the fare of a truly talented artisan.
