Legendary Jeffrey’s Reopens in Clarksville

Posted by on May 7, 2013 in Openings

Put another jewel in the crown of Larry McGuire and his partners with the acquisition and renovation of the legendary Jeffrey’s. Begun back in the early 70’s by Ron and Peggy Weiss and Jeff Winebeger, Jeffrey’s was Austin’s ultimate example of Bistro dining.

Larry and Tom Moorman have their reputations solidly in place with Lambert’s, Perla’s, and Elizabeth Street Café. The Jeffrey’s reopening is their biggest leap forward yet, and we note the menu has taken a more carnivorous tone than in it’s previous iteration. Josh Hines is the exec chef with sous chef Sam Walters. Also on board is Rebecca Meekman who formerly worked at Congress. And the prices are undoubtedly higher than before. The wine list has also expanded.

I have missed Jeffrey’s the past few years, and look forward to a visit. Check them out at jeffreysofaustin.com.
