More Troubles for John Mueller

John Mueller

A battle with sister LeeAnn Mueller once again spells trouble for the prodigal son of central Texas BBQ, John Mueller. And just like that, in enough time as it takes to say “beef ribs,” John is out at the popular South 1st St. Trailer. No point in going into graphic details here, but suffice it to say, sis has got a bit of fence reparations to do with loyal customers and fans of JM.

I can’t speak from experience as to what it was like working with John, but he undoubtedly had his quirks. Managing financial matters relative to the business was apparently not a strong suit. And Lee Ann, who had purchased the business from the gentlemen who had gotten John set up on South 1st (he allegedly had sold the rights to his name for a very modest fee) simply had seen enough. Hence, there will be a new name for the joint. Was LeeAnn’s move extreme? Hard to say, but business after all must come first.

And as we discussed on 590 KLBJ this morning, don’t write John out of the script just yet though. I have a funny feeling he’ll (as Arnold S. was fond of saying) “be back.” Where and when? Quien sabe? But he’s a tough guy to keep down. Lot of pedigree in that Mueller DNA. It would be a shame to waste it.
