Operator of Rudy’s and Mighty Fine Wins Governors Award

KNN Management, operator of the Austin franchise of Rudy’s BBQ and the imagineers of Mighty Fine Burgers won the prestigious Texas Award for Performance Excellence.

This is the first time that the award, first given in 1993 by the Governor’s office, has been won by a restaurant company.

I personally could not think of a more deserving recipient. Ken Schiller and his partners run an exemplary business. They get the most important aspects of restaurant operation: dedication, enthusiasm, effective systems, great employee training and excellent food always win the day.

And to top it off, they are all good people. They like what they do and it shows: both in customer loyalty and increased sales. I feel that certain lift each time I walk into a Rudy’s or Mighty Fine: indeed, it’s pervasive. That vibe is hard to create: but when its been accomplished you just have to stand back and admire it.
