Pastrami and Pieous: Mon Dieu!
When I first discovered Pieous out on Highway 290 W [near Nutty Brown] it was their pizza that enthralled me. We became addicted to the bacon and cheese pie and constantly ordered it.
That same sourdough starter that co-owner Josh Kaner brought with him from California for the crust is also the basis for their homemade bread. And the beauty of that bread is that sandwiched between two fresh slices, one can order some of the tastiest moist pastrami in this area.
I had that moist pastrami sandwich Sunday night and it was absolutely delightful. Add some pickle slices, onion, and ground mustard and it completely rocks. The amazingly fresh bread didn’t hurt either.
We live in an area that is not exactly restaurant central so Pieous being within 5 miles of our house in a huge plus. But I would drive farther for that sandwich!
