Piranha Killer Sushi Opens on San Jacinto at 3rd

The list of downtown Sushi joints continues to swell with the addition of Piranha Killer Sushi, a small chain, with three stores in Arlington and Ft. Worth. Seems like a few years ago all we had was Kyoto. Then along came Silhouette, Maiko, Imperia, Yu Sushi Izagaya, Kenichi and, let’s see, have I left anyone out?

Piranha Killer Sushi at first glance appears to be one of those uber cool places that strives to capture the fabled Austin vibe. No Japanese music and shoot-from-the-hip servers. We had some Maki that were quite good and some himachi that was OK but not great. But the whole place has a kind of feel-good ring to it. We’ll definitely be back.
