Ramen Tatsu-ya Opens Second Location on South Lamar

The wildly popular noodle house Ramen Tatsu-ya has joined the latest throng of new restaurants who now call South Lamar home.

I was one of the first people in the door when the north location opened several years ago, and every slurp was delightful.

This is not the Ramen Noodles you can get at HEB (still 8 packages for a buck). This is a variety of dishes prepared by my friend Tatsu Aikawa. The flavors and textures are simply amazing.

I first tried Tatsu’s work at Imperia where he was the sushi chef. Then he was off to LA for a crash course in the art of Ramen preparation. And then back to Austin for his forray into slurp heaven.

Can’t wait to try the new location at 1234 South Lamar Blvd.
