Revamped Hudson’s on the Bend Closes After Just a Few Months

Jeff Blank’s original Hudson’s on the Bend on Hwy 620 near Lakeway had a 32-year run. The wildly original restaurant that introduced Austinites to Rattlesnake Fritters and Grilled Wildebeast to name a few was an ongoing classic until it closed last year.

Alas, the new Hudson’s which replaced the original closed after Valentine’s Day this week. Since it is my habit to wait several months before trying a new restaurant I never even got to taste the food. Very little explanation from the new owners on the reason for the closing.

Perhaps we’ll see another Blank creation, The Mighty Cone, at this location.
