Sakura’s Omakase Dinner Finishes with Delightful Hamachi Sashimi
I had the pleasure of sampling many creations from the fertile imagination of chef Po at Sakura Sushi & Bar in Lakeway. The occasion was the Omakase dinner held every other Tuesday night at the Japanese eatery.
Course after course came out: from crab maki to the famous Cucumber Island. And then there was the baked salmon and an oyster plate accompanied by an oyster shooter in a shot glass.
The maguro toro was soft as butter and beautifully fresh with tremendous mouth feel. Aside from the compelling tastes, the presentation of each course was culinary artistry at its best.
The Tuesday Omakase dinners begin a 5pm. No need to worry about what to order because the chef takes care of that, and that’s the essence of the Omakase tradition. So you put yourself in the capable hands of Master Po and enjoy the hell out of the food, as I did!
