Satay Closes

I’ve known Dr. Foo Swasdee for many years and it is with regret that we must report that her pioneering Thai restaurant, Satay, is closing. Seems like the Anderson Lane eaterie has been around forever and it almost has. It opened in 1987.
Swasdee is the only restaurant owner I know with a PhD in Food Science from Texas A&M.
And she has been an indomitable supporter of young chefs and growing the cachet of Thai cuisine.
