Sesame Hill Ramps Up Chinese Takeout in Oak Hill

Annie Jiang of Sesame Hill

I had driven by Sesame hill, which used to be occupied, I think, by In and Out Burger, probably a dozen times. From the outside, it looked, well, unusual. But then one day I pulled over and met the owner Annie Jiang. She walked me through the menu and I sampled a number of dishes. And I must say I was impressed. The food is on a par with the better Chinese joints in town.

Their particular niche is both drive-thru pick up and delivery within a ten-mile radius of the little restaurant. There are several tables inside for dining as well. And I must tell you, the highly personable and apparently indomitable Annie is by herself worth the visit.
The choices are fairly traditional ranging from potstickers and tasty egg drop soup to Lo Mein dishes, a wonderful Thai Beef dish, and even a credible Egg Foo Young! But they are all a cut above what you might expect from a little spot like this!

Here’s the key though: if you’re driving south on the highway part of 290, it ends just past the strip mall where Sesame Hill is located. It’s almost impossible to make a turn to the right at that point. So take the last exit on 290 and stay on the access road. And you’ll see Sesame Hill on your right.

Trust me, this place is a find. Check out their menu at sesamehill.com.
