Sobani Opens in Lakeway

Peggy Duran and the Brasied Lamb Shank at Sobani

I just dined at the coolest little Bistro on Highway 620 near Lakeway: the place is called Sobani and it’s really quite good. The food is eclectic and it has a small but most interesting wine list.

I tried the Mushroom Soup with just a hint of cream and truffle. It was excellent: full of flavor and with a lovely balance. The Pork Belly was another nice dish. The textural contrasts were very appealing and the tastes worked on a number of levels. Chef Jonny has got some real talent.

You can rest assured I’ll be heading back to Sobani for another tasting very soon. Check our their menu at sobani620.com or call (512) 266-3900. It’s at 1700 North FM 620. Just across the street from Faraday’s Kitchen Store.
