Spoon + Fork Thai Kitchen Opens in Belterra Village
A new Thai restaurant has opened in Belterra Village off Hwy 290 West. Spoon + Fork Thai Kitchen is owned by a husband and wife team and features traditional stir fried Thai dishes along with curries and soups.
My daughter Lauren (pictured) and I recently stopped by for a quick bite. I should preface my comments by saying that my reference points for local Thai restaurants are Sap’s Fine Thai Cuisine and Titaya’s.
Fork and Spoon is off to a good start, but we were disappointed with the Chicken Satay skewers, several of which were undercooked.
The steamed dumplings were tasty and had a nice texture, but the egg rolls were over wrapped to the point that the taste of the filling was a bit obscured.
The Green Curry was appropriately fiery, but could have used more of that distinctive flavor common to this dish.
The Shrimp Pad Kee Mao with flat noodles was quite good and had terrific mouth feel. We liked it to the extent that we got a second order to go.
Fork and Spoon is next to Breed Hardware and is a welcome addition to an area that has been devoid of Asian cuisine.
