Stuart Scrugg’s BC Tavern on Bee Caves Road Closes

It all started when Stuart Scruggs decided to move his famous Zoot restaurant from its cozy little house on Hearn (off Lake Austin Blvd.) out to Bee Caves Road past the entrance to Barton Creek West. Alas, Zoot was not the right restaurant for that area and so Stuart was forced to close him little gem and turn it into something more downscale he called the BC Tavern. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either and he announced the closing on the restaurant’s Facebo0k page.

I’ve always been a fan of Stuart’s work and this is just too damned bad.

The good news, at least, is that he and partner Mark Paul still have the eclectic small plates Wink on North Lamar which is alive and well.
