Tapas Bravas Opens on Rainey St.
Tapas Bravas is a new trailer in the rapidly growing (food and drink wise) Rainey St. area. The offerings feature both cold and hot tapas from Jed Holdredge, a self-taught foodie who spent two years in Valencia, Spain.
I loved the Ensaladita Rusa (Spanish potato salad) and the Pate de Pato (duck liver mousse pate) on the cold side. The hot tapas feature Albondigas (pork meatballs in a tomato sauce) and Croquetas (deep fried chicken and ham croquettes).
I would advise that you allow a little time for your food to arrive (perhaps bring a bottle of wine, because they are very particular about each dish prepared). View their menu at tapasbravasaustin.com.
