The Balon North Carolina Dining Tour Ends in Hillsborough
One last night on our trip, and one last spectacular meal. No seafood tonight, but instead one last meal at The Nomad, a cross-cultural street food inspired eatery in Hillsborough where I had the most amazing gua bao (shown below.)
The pork belly was incredibly tender and the chili sauce was a perfect complement. Three friends run this joint as an homage to their families’ nomadic travels, and this eclectic little spot really clicks.
The Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodles were perfectly prepared and served, and the garlic ramen was a highly original and complicated dish. The noodles were al dente and the flavor of the spicy broth totally worked!
So now it’s back to Austin and rest assured we’ll be returning to North Carolina’s fertile tasting grounds soon!
