The League Kitchen and Tavern Opens at Former Site of Ciola’s in Lakeway

Just when it seemed like I was bemoaning the fact that Lakeway needed some more restaurants, along comes Apatite Cafe, Sobani and now the new League Tavern and Kitchen at the site of the former Ciola’s Italian eaterie. Dan Ciola’s son Tony has partnered with Creed Ford IV on this one and it just opened a few days ago. This is a casual joint with a fun ambiance. They’ve added quite a bit of space to the old Ciola’s layout on RR 620 in Lakeway to house both an extended bar and dining area. The food on first taste was good: tried the Meatloaf Bites (wickedly tasty) along with a very decent burger topped with a fried egg. The truffle fries were also tasty as was the very fresh (nice batter) fish and chips. Check them out at leaguelakeway.com.
