The Pizza Cave Moves into New Digs on Highway 290 West
I first discovered The Pizza Cave about 4 years ago in its cozy building at the corner of Highway 12 and 290 in Dripping Springs. They served our favorite New York style pizza and we became fairly regular customers, as have a lot of other locals.
When a massive rain storm left almost a foot of water on their floor recently(nearby Homespun Kitchen & Bar was deluged as well), the owners decided they needed a better constructed building with a lot more parking.
Fortunately, they found it a couple of miles east on 290 adjacent to the Sleep Inn Hotel. The new building has a gorgeous view of the hill country and lots more seating than the original. The Pizza Cave reopened shortly after.
I was driving by that night and saw what appeared to be a traffic jam. Then I noticed that the cars were all waiting to get into the parking lot. Clearly the word had spread quickly .
We’ll be going soon to sample some pies and of course their famous piggy soup. I love to see a mom and pop place take off, and particularly when it’s only a couple of miles from my neighborhood!
Best of luck to The Pizza Cave.
